Adult Teams

The club has a number of competing teams, resulting in a strong presence across the divisions in the Coventry and District Summer Tennis League and the South Warwickshire (Men) and Stratford Winter (Ladies) leagues. We also run a number of men’s, ladies’ and mixed veterans’ teams.

Become a team member

The sheer number of teams we have provides the opportunity for players of all different standards to compete in matches against other local clubs. If you are new to LLTSC, or have been around for a while and are interested in getting involved with the teams, then please get in touch with Jake Adams, the Club’s Director of Tennis (and LTA Level 4 Performance Coach) on jake@lltsc.co.uk.

Or if you are involved with a coaching session, then let your coach know you are interested and they will point you in the right direction. The teams can recruit new players at almost any point of the season, so you don’t need to wait for a new league to start to get involved. Please also look out for the pre-season practice and team selection sessions too, as this is a great way to meet a large number of the players involved with the teams.

Team Guidance

Squads are selected each year in the spring by a selection committee and in accordance with the selection criteria.
The captain of your squad will let you know which matches you have been selected for, time and place. Please arrive in good time.

If you cannot play once you have accepted the match, for example due to injury or new circumstances, please let your captain know soonest. The captain will source a replacement. Late withdrawals, i.e. on the day of the match, should please be avoided whenever possible.
If you are asked by another squad to play (whether higher or lower) please check with your squad captain before accepting. Players moving across squads can become tied to another team and this needs to be managed by captains. You can typically only play for one club team in each league. The rules of each league are different so please be aware.
Match fees are £2 per player per match. This goes towards the cost of balls and lights and are payable at the end of the season. We waive these fees for juniors. (If you have difficulty with these costs, please let us know because this should not prevent anyone from playing for a team.)
Match teas sometimes need to be catered, and your captain will share out the catering responsibilities wherever possible.
For home matches, balls are obtained from the bar, 2 tubes per match. Please recycle them into the ball bins when beyond use.
Rules for each league are available online or from your captain and they differ for each league. The most frequent discussion is about the weather. The home team captain will decide if conditions are fit for play. If matches are cancelled, it’s up to the captains to rearrange depending on court availability. The courts can be booked out through the office.
The captain will enter the match result after each match. If they are not present, please can a player pass it to them to update the scores.
